Living Rivers Foundation engages in:
the protection of free rivers and freshwater life;
the sustainable management of water resources;
the restoration of rivers landscapes – in Europe and internationally.
Our Initiatives
Free Rivers
We believe that European countries and the EU as a community can do better in protecting the last wild rivers on the continent, taking down dams, and restoring the pathways rivers create.
Urban Waters
We partner with IGB Berlin to encourage ecological research and incorporate the findings into management of urban waters and green spaces.
EU Water Policy
As a member of the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), we engage in the debate with partners across Europe about the future of the EU’s water and biodiversiy policies.
River Film Fest
In a cooperation with flow : europe and further partners, we presents an international selection of environmental and outdoor films in cities around Europe.
We organise and co-organise different types of events, from movie evenings and river film festival to conference on water, rivers and lakes.
